1--Transient studies with screw-driven machines
New frames have been installed as of 2024. Methods will differ.
Screw-driven test frames allow tests in compression, tension, and bending. Controls are comparatively simple. Tests at constant deformation rate can reveal elastic modulus, yield strength and fracture strength. These frames do not allow testing at rapid rates, and they do not allow fine control of deformation history or load history.
